Our Mission

As an organization, our goals are to promote healthy behaviors and encourage playing sports for the right reasons -- tough competition, but also fair play, good sportsmanship and fun!  We also strive to be a business that makes our community proud.

To achieve those goals:

  • Our friendly staff will provide all customers with the same great playing experience. Everyone is welcome!

  • We will offer a variety of programming, and use technology and responsive customer service to make it easy for everyone to find a way to play at Dover Sportsplex.  Come play with us!

  • We will make necessary investments in our building and equipment, and our staff will keep the facility clean and organized.  We want to have the nicest indoor sports facility around!

Playing Areas

TURF FIELDS

Our indoor turf fields feature high-quality artifical grass and dasherboards so the ball never goes out of play. The big turf field is 105' x 40' and the flex space (turf in the winter) measures 72' x 32'. We offer full-size goals (6' x 10') for play with goalies, or small goals for feet-only play.

Beyond soccer, recent upgrades to our netting make our turf perfect for training sessions in football, lacrosse, field hockey, and more.

Hard COURTS

Our two hard courts feature premium no-slip sports flooring from SnapSports. Our in-bounds basketball playing area is 74' x 40', with collegiate goals. Our volleyball courts are Olympic-sized, with top-level adjustable net systems. Judge’s stands and electronic scoreboards are available.

Meanwhile, our flex space converts to hard court from March to November and offers three basketball hoops: a small full court with hoops at either end that lower to 8' that is perfect for kids; and a full-size half court in the middle.

FACILITY

HISTORY

Originally built in 1955 as a Food Fair supermarket, starting in the late 1970s our building went through various uses, including the NJ Department of Labor and a candy/tobacco warehouse.  By 2021, when it was purchased by West Morris Capital, it had been vacant and derelict for a number of years.  After extensive renovation, the building reopened in late 2022 as the Dover Sportsplex. (For more on the history of this property, check out our blog post.)

LOCATION

Dover Sportsplex is located in downtown Dover, just blocks from the intersection of Rt. 46 and Rt. 15 and minutes from Rt. 10 and Rt. 80. We have ample off-street parking and are located just one-half mile from the Dover Train Station.

Leadership

Chardae Moody

General Manager

I have always believed in the power of sports to teach life lessons that extend far beyond the game - and that belief is at the heart of everything I do.  I grew up as a multi-sport athlete and continued competing at the college level in basketball.  My love of sports has never stopped there - I have remained connected ever since through coaching, volunteering with youth programs, and staying rooted in the community and connected to the next generation of athletes.

My vision for Dover Sportsplex is simple but powerful: create a safe space where athletes of all ages feel seen, supported, and challenged.  A place built on family, positive culture, and genuine care - where kids, in particular, can build confidence, develop character, and discover who they are by carrying those lessons with them long after they leave the court, the field, or the gym.  With a strong foundation in operations and leadership and a profound commitment to advocating for youth, I am now channeling my experiences into a role I have always felt called to do - one where sports, community, and the growth of young people all come together.  I am thrilled to be here, and even more excited about what's ahead.

With a lifelong history of athletic excellence, I developed my competitive drive and strategic thinking as an all-star center midfielder consistently throughout my life and into high school. This foundation was further strengthened as I transitioned to volleyball in seventh grade, where I went on to achieve all-state honors and became a champion in Double-A beach volleyball tournaments.

My professional journey includes leading complex, high-pressure operations at Rose Brand Wipers in Secaucus, New Jersey, where intense time organization and flawless logistics were essential to meeting critical delivery deadlines. Transitioning to my current role as general manager of this sports facility, I apply the same voracity and team-building approach, relying on the guidance of our staff and owner to deliver an exceptional experience for everyone we serve.
